Candy and Porridge!

Quinoa Porridge

Ingredients:
1/2 cup quinoa
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
1 1/2 cups almond milk
1/2 cup water
2 Tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of sea salt

Heat a saucepan over medium heat. Add quinoa, season with cardamom and cook until toasted, stirring frequently about 3 minutes. Add almond milk, water, honey, vanilla and sea salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cook until porridge is thick and grains are tender, about 25 minutes. Add more water, if needed. Stir occasionally, especially at the end, to prevent burning.

Discovered this recipe from a magazine from a whole foods store. *Recipe courtesy of Dr.Josh Axe

Its definitely in rotation.

Quinoa - is high in protein and lack gluten. Its high in fiber and iron. I see it in many recipes mostly in salads but I like it as porridge.

Deconstructing a candy bar.

It consist of dark chocolate 72% cocoa
some natural peanut butter
and dates.
It's not quite a Snickers bar but it definitely has a sweet flavor from the chocolate, then you combine peanut butter and the date(s) for flavor and texture!

Then I washed this down with kombucha tea with chia seeds.
Kombucha is fermented tea, its definitely got a tang to it, you might even say its sour.

Ok. Its quite alright to call me strange, maybe even gross! But go ahead you eat what you love and we will both be happy!

And just for the fun of it..here is a picture of me the night I typed this post!

Products I love and I bought myself...
