Thrify Thursday #1: College books can be expensive! A standard book can easily run up to a hundred dollars per book! A full-time student can easily spend $400 a semester for books alone. Luckily in this day and age you can actually save some money by purchasing the electronic version for a Kindle or an Ipad or a desktop.
And most college bookstores have used books available...if you're lucky!
But the most economical option is renting a used book on line! There are many websites that offer this service. We recently used www.amazon.com
What I like about it :
You don't have to stand in line.
You know if the book is available in seconds.
The used copy arrived in a timely manner.
The copy is in excellent condition. (no evidence or previous owner!)
Note: The book must be returned by a certain date and return shipping is free.
**Always read the fine print of the terms and agreement of your book rental!**
Thrifty Thursday Tip #2: Special promos (like on the Rx glasses pictured above). A few months back there was a promo going around and I had to jump on it! The deal is first customers to www.coastal.com get the first pair of glasses for FREE!
I am really pleased with these glasses. I have wanted a new pair for a long time and had this style in mind but just never got around to it. But with a price like FREE! How could I resist. They arrived with a hard case, a bottle of cleaner, a repair tool, and cleaning cloth. I only paid for shipping and handling.
In case you want to know these are Derek Cardigan 7014
Thrifty Thursday Tip #3: The blouse I have on in the picture above quickly became one of my favorite purchases. It's slightly oversized. Its a simple classic cut with a chevron type print. The price---under $5.00! Where? Thriftshop!
Please click the link to see one of my favorite videos! Its just silly and fun! Hope it makes you LOL!
Have a great day/night!
